Erin's Story

Erin (she/her) is a certified yoga instructor, aerial dancer, and movement artist. Her hope is to spread awareness of the internal body, fostering inner connection through asana practice. The body is the only assurance, the only true friend that each of us is promised in this life. Erin’s work is rooted in using movement, working through discomfort and finding flow, to help people understand their bodies in order to develop a healthy relationship with themselves.
After growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, she studied acting at UC Santa Barbara where most of her education focused on movement. Throughout that journey, discovering breath for the purpose of performance, she found a deep love and curiosity for studying movement specifically. She received her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Santa Barbara, rooted in the trauma-informed approach, before moving back to Chicago.
For aerial dance, Erin trained with Christina McCarthy, Seventh Dimension Dance (Santa Barbara), Aeriform Arts (LA), and Actors Gymnasium (Evanston). Since 2023, Erin has fallen in love with how still your mind can become while suspended in the air. While reaching for the next move, she believes that the body develops more trust and strength. Most of aerial is a mental game, trusting that your body will catch you and accepting the discomfort. The mind stills and the body leads. Aerial provides a beautiful chance for the mind to find safety in otherwise “fight or flight” situations, giving the nervous system balance. She is delighted to combine her aerial dance experience with yoga. Erin teaches aerial hammock yoga and trains in silks, trapeze, and most predominantly, Lyra.
Erin welcomes students from any and all backgrounds.
