Ashley "Angel" Hart's Story

Ashley “Angel” Hart. 500-Hour E-RYT | Musician | Caregiver
I am Ashley “Angel” Hart, a creator of movement, sound, and stillness. As a musician, yogi, and daughter of Chicago’s South Side, my work is rooted in the belief that we hold immense power in our bodies—power to heal, transform, and rise. Yoga found me at a crossroads in 2016, offering clarity in chaos. It taught me what it means to rebuild from within, and I have been devoted to sharing that gift ever since.
My practice is a reclamation, a declaration: Yoga is for everybody and everybody. It is for Black and Brown people, mothers, children, and anyone seeking to know themselves more fully. Through movement, we find our edges and stretch beyond them. Through sound, we unlock what has been buried too long. Through rest, we remember that we are enough, just as we are.
I am guided by the principle that wellness is not a privilege but a birthright. The moments of strength and stillness we create are sacred—they make space for healing, dreaming, and imagining new possibilities. I craft spaces that nurture courage and connection, where you can breathe deeply, move freely, and unapologetically take up space.
I’ve walked many paths in this work—teaching at studios like 612 Jungle, Zen Yoga Garage, & The Groove; holding space at festivals, conferences, and arts events; leading cannabis and grief workshops; and facilitating community classes that remain accessible to all. My journey includes 500 hours of advanced training, with a focus on vinyasa and trauma-informed movement.
This practice is about more than poses. It’s about reclaiming the parts of us we’ve been told to hide. It’s about finding joy in the act of becoming. It’s about listening to the rhythms of our bodies and the songs of our spirits. It is about being.
This is yoga as liberation. This is yoga as love.
